Magical Maths
Do you realize there's something almost magical about the number 9? Multiples of it always add up to 9! Here's what I mean: 9 x 1 = 9 9 x 2 = 18 : 1 + 8 = 9 9 x 3 = 27 : 2 + 7 = 9 9 x 4 = 36 : 3 + 6 = 9 . . . 9 x 12 = 108 : 1 + 0 + 8 = 9 You can try it with any multiple at all, example: 9 x 254 = 2286 : 2 + 2 + 8 + 6 = 18 : 1 + 8 = 9 Use it to pep up your child's interest in numbers, like when the child moans, " Maths is so borrringggg..."

Contributor's Note
I'm not sure whether what I've written above is actually common knowledge (and I didn't know it!), but it was something that somebody I knew 15 years ago mentioned to me, and somehow it stayed in my memory.
